— “Barber absolutely loves football, and it’s fun and exciting to watch him at work,” Bennett said.

Barber will likely be creating scoring opportunities for fullback Tom Clark, who doubles as a linebacker, as well as Cassius Allen and Ricky Jowly, both new at the Varsity tailback position.

Clark offered his thoughts on 2013’s prospects.

“Quarterback Tyler Brown and I have good chemistry — we’ll be communicating well and moving the ball down the field to score,” he said. Brown has been praised by Bennett for his quick moves and his ability to throw on the run.

Senior Tackle Adam Agresta is considered the 280-pound anchor of the beefy line. As Agresta stood at the sidelines of a pre-season practice this week, he said that despite the loss of seven experienced seniors, the Warriors have bright prospects for 2013.

“There are a lot of young guys with great potential,” he said gazing over the field. “I feel we can make some noise.”

The key, he added, was the love of football among his friends.

“We have a lot of fun in practice,” he said. “We have a great time here.”
