Wow what a great deal to turn 80 years of age, my family treated me royally as some 21 members of my family came together for a great meal at the Essex Inn on Saturday evening. It was great to have four generations come together the youngest at 16 months to me at 80 years of age. Then on Sunday they had a big reception after the regular church service at the Methodist church in my honor it was all wonderful.

It was delightful to learn that Betty Ledden was in town for a brief visit and will also celebrate a birthday on Aug. 28, nice to have you return from time to time.

The American Legion is reorganizing and is looking for those interested in joining. They will hold their meetings at Rick’s restaurant, so if interested check with them on date and time.

Our New Beginnings group met this past Sunday and had supper at the Harmony Restaurant in Port Kent, it was most enjoyable.

A most enjoyable recent visit with Cay Sullivan helped to remind me what pleasure we bring to those that have touched our lives over the years, she is still reading her cards and notes and enjoys her visits. Think about it maybe others would find joy in hearing from you as their health keeps them more home bound, people like Ralph Marcotte.

Happy birthday to: Vicki Dickerson Aug. 31, Sheila Vanags Aug. 31, Cindy Flanagan Aug. 31. Stephanie Strong Sept. 1, Tara Robare Sept. 1. Janice Allen Sept. 3, James Hotaling Sept. 4, Donna Crowningshield Sept. 5.
