Winners of the Peter Neal Memorial Scholarship have been announced. The scholarships are presented annually to employees of the Silver Bay YMCA , based on high standards of work performance and financial requirements for a college education.

The winners for 2013 are: Sarah Bryant-University of Buffalo, Abby Halm-Rice University, Brad Hicks-Michigan State University and Dustin Scott-SUNY Plattsburgh. Dustin is a resident of Ticonderoga.

Family and friends established the scholarship in 1992, as a memorial to Peter Neal, son of Sally and James Neal of Venice, Fla., and Sabbath Day Point. He was a summer employee at the Silver Bay YMCA the summers of 1983, 1984 and 1985. He died of colon cancer in 1992 at age 30.
