Haircut raffle aids Health Committee

It has been reported that Heidi Figueroa, the owner of Heidi’s Shear Wizardry, is raffling off a free hair cut each month and is donating the money to a local organization. This month the proceeds went to the Bolton Health Committee. A patron of the hair salon, Susan Wilson, offered a comment this week concerning the gesture.

“This community is full of people who really make a difference with their kindness and generosity,” she said. “And this town is full of people like me who, while not born here, are fortunate enough to live in a town that is so accepting of others and now call Bolton home.”

Raffles abound in Bolton

Currently the Bolton Chamber of Commerce is raffling off tickets for a brand new Limited Edition Harley Sportster and trailer. Tickets are $10 and they are only selling 2,500. The bike being raffled off is usually parked outside of the Chamber office. The drawing will take place at the Chamber’s annual auction dinner on Sept. 10 at The Sagamore Resort.

St. Sacrament Episcopal Church is also holding their annual lottery. They sell just 200 tickets at $100 each. This year the church will be donating $5,000 to the Bolton Rescue Squad and $5,000 to the Phil Trembley Memorial Fund. The winner will be announced at Rogers Park on Sunday Sept. 7.
