The Charles Pratt Memorial Race will be held on Saturday, May 11. Sponsored by the Elizabethtown Social Center, receive a free T-shirt with your pre-registration due this Friday, April 26. Contact the Social Center at 873-6408 or print the registration form online at elizabethtownsocialcenter.org. Adults are $20, $10 children under 12, or $50 for a family this includes a lunch buffet.

There’s still time to take advantage of the early bird season memberships for the Cobble Hill Golf Course. The course will be opening soon on weekends, if you’re interested in acquiring a membership you can purchase them at the town hall or at the club house when it’s open.

Since it’s Spring, and the weather continues to get better, it’s outside clean up time. Beginning this Saturday, April 27, and continuing each Saturday, in May, the Elizabethtown Brush Dump will be open for Elizabethtown residents only. Opening at 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., only natural tree limbs, less then three inches round, brush, and leaves will be accepted, no construction material or anything similar. Please, adhere to the rules, don’t spoil it for others or it will be closed again. Remember too, that the DEC residential burn ban is still in effect until Wednesday, May 15.

The United Church of Christ (UCC), needs help in financing the new clock in the tower. The clock is a landmark in our town, it has been ringing the bells in E-town since 1929 and now needs to be replace. The cost of the repairs is over $9,000, currently they’ve only received $2,750. Keep the bells ringing, donations can be mailed to the UCC at P.O. Box 537, E-town, NY 12932.

2013 Rabies Clinic will be held Tuesday, April 30, from 6 until 7 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Fire Company, dog registration will be held at the same time.

Important travel information. Route 73, through the Cascades will have only one lane open from Wednesday, May 1, until Wednesday, May 15, with the exception of Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12, it will be closed completely. You’ll need to find an alternate route to avoid the area.
