Indian Lake Returning for his seventh year coaching girls varsity basketball, John Reynolds helped his squad earn a 15-2 regular season record last year and 3-1 in post-season play.
In March, the Orange took the Section VII/Class D championship for the second year in a row with a 38-30 win over Elizabethtown-Lewis and lost 47-21 against Section II champs Argyle in the regional finals.
“I think the league will be tough again this year, and the team is looking forward to getting started with our games,” Reynolds said.
This year’s team is a nice mix of veterans and first year players, according to Reynolds, and the players would like to continue the program’s recent success.
“The girls are trying to win their division for the sixth straight year,” Reynolds said. “The team has also won back-to-back section 7 titles and want to be in the big games at the end of the year.”
The players to watch will be last year’s MVP Jessica Bain and returning players Sydney Hinckley, Shannon Farrell, Meg Smith, Abby Darling, Morgan King, Ronya Hamdan and Chelsea Walters.
The team begins its regular season on Wednesday, Dec. 5 with a home game against Wells.
