SL man shot on train trestle is in stable condition

Police are searching for two suspects in the crime

— At this time police believe this was not a random occurrence and there is no evidence to indicate a concern for general public safety.

The police have canvassed the area around the crime scene, knocking on doors and interviewing neighbors.

“We had nine officers, five Saranac Lake and four State Police officers knocking on doors around Pine Street, Main Street, and Bloomingdale and we have interviewed close to 30 people and no one has said they heard or saw anything,” Nason said.

A potential witness may have seen the victim in the area of Pine Street shortly before the incident. The victim described the witness as a high school age white male walking with a skateboard. Police are asking anyone that was in the area between 6:15 and 7 p.m. to contact the Saranac Lake Police Department.

The police are asking anyone that may have been in the area of the train trestle, or nearby streets, including Pine St., Bloomingdale Ave., Main St., Church St., or Forest Hill Ave. around 6:15 and 7 p.m. to contact the Saranac Lake Police Department at 891-4422.
