“We need to go to our department heads and ask them to find us some savings,” Scozzafava said. “They haven’t done that yet.”
There will be a public hearing on the Essex County budget Monday, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m., following the regular Ways and Means Committee meeting, which has been scheduled for 6 p.m. that day instead of its usual 10 a.m. start time. That will be followed by a budget committee meeting Thursday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m.
