Lemons set to lead the Lake Placid Center for the Arts

— After an extensive search, the Lake Placid Center for the Arts has hired a new Executive Director.

James Lemons, currently General Manager of the Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, will join the LPCA in early December.

James has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from Midwestern State University, and served as the Associate Artistic Director of Water Tower Theatre in Addison Texas before going to Florida. While at Water Tower he co-founded the Out of the Loop Fringe Festival, a 10-day celebration of dance, theatre, music and art which is still held each spring.

“I couldn’t be more excited to join both the LPCA and the Lake Placid community as a whole. I look forward to partnering with the board and the staff as we work to build upon the LPCA’s tremendous past successes,” Lemons said.

Outgoing Director Nadine Duhaime has been with the organization since 1986.

“She has been an inspirational force in making the LPCA a vibrant community asset,” said Nancy Rosenthal, Board President. “This is a bittersweet time. It’s difficult to let Nadine go, yet exciting to bring James on board. We are confident that the LPCA will continue to flourish under new leadership.”
