— Several business owners met recently in Port Henry to discuss funding possibilities for the renovation of downtown buildings.

Presenter Sharon Reynolds, executive director of PRIDE of Ticonderoga, shared information and materials on the New York Main Street Program administered through the state Office of Community Renewal.

“The town of Ticonderoga has been very successful in obtaining funding through the NYMS program,” Reynolds said. “These grants are extremely competitive, but it’s important that Port Henry begins the process this year, especially with the cohesiveness in which the town and village are working together to revitalize the community.”

If awarded the grant will fund both interior and exterior renovations and owners will contribute 50 percent of the construction costs.

For more information on this opportunity Port Henry building/business owners should contact Reynolds at sreynolds@prideofticonderoga.org or call 585-6366 extension 103.
