— Rice said proceeds from Moriah Madness help with a number of PTA efforts.

“In addition to offering two scholarships to graduating seniors each year we have also held the New York State Reflections art program school-wide and presented prize ribbons to the participants & winners for the last four years,” Rice said. “We purchased, along with community donations, and gifted the school’s playground. We purchased, along with community donations, and gifted the lighted school sign.

“We also supply the prizes for the school’s spelling each year,” she continued. “We contribute financially to the Christmas Program to help purchase gifts. We sponsored an assembly by Slim Goodbody for the elementary students. In the fall this year we held a Healthy Lifestyles coloring contest in grades pre-K - 6 and presented healthy and fun prizes to winners in each group. We just recently made a donation for the junior class after prom party. These are just a sample of some of the ways the PTA uses the funds that we raise.”
