Inter-Lakes Health recently thanked its employees for their contributions.

The Ticonderoga health care facility held a week of activities for employees to show management’s appreciation to its workers.

“Our staff is what makes us strong,” Chip Holmes, CEO of Inter-Lakes Health, said. “Our caring caregivers and caring support staff contribute to the success of our ILH family each day throughout the year. This week affords us the opportunity to show them how much they are appreciated.”

Tamara Evens, Inter-Lakes director of human resources, agreed.

“The week was a great success,” said Evens. “Throughout the year there are many weeks dedicated to recognizing different professions in the health care industry. We wanted to make one week dedicated to recognizing all Inter-Lakes Health employees and their contribution to the success of the entire ILH family. Our employees are the most critical asset of our organization.”

A barbecue for employees kicked off events on Monday, June 4, followed the next day by a breakfast and “Spirit Day.”

A “Pie in the Face” fund raising was held Wednesday. Eight staff members volunteered to received a pie in the face to support the Heritage Commons Activities Department, which is raising funds for a boat ride on Lake George for residents this summer. Staff purchased tickets for their favorite volunteer. The three volunteers with the most tickets received a pie in the face. The lucky winners were Kristin Thompson, director of clinical operations; Bonnie Maiolo, director of materials management; and Holmes.

Employees were given a 10 percent discount on all purchases made at the Inter-Lakes Health Auxiliary Gift Shop Thursday and staff celebrated the week by wearing their favorite sports team jersey and participating in an ice cream social Friday.

A golf tournament and silent auction at Ticonderoga Country Club capped the week’s events Saturday.

The golf tourney attracted 13 teams of four people each. Teams were composed of Inter-Lakes Health employees, members of the ILH board of directors and members of the community.
