Chazy Man dies after motorcycle collision

On June 20, 2012, at approximately 8:11 p.m., Clinton County Fire Control received a 911 call regarding a motorcycle/automobile accident which occurred on State Route 9 near Reynolds Road in the town of Chazy. Investigation at the scene revealed a 2007 Honda motorcycle operated by James D. Wilson, age 26, of Chazy, New York was northbound on State Route 9, when a 2006 Subaru Legacy also traveling northbound and several yards in front of the motorcycle, operated by Carol Guindon, age 61, of Verdun, Quebec executed a U-turn in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the vehicle in the rear tire area of the driver’s side, causing Wilson to be ejected from the motorcycle. Wilson was pronounced deceased at the scene by Clinton County Coroner David F. Donah. The operator of the vehicle, Guindon, and a rear passenger in the vehicle, Nancy Bourdeau, age 45, of Brainville, Quebec were transported to CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Bourdeau was further transported to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Vermont due to her injuries, where she is listed in critical condition. Two other passengers in the car were uninjured. The accident is being investigated by the New York State Police in Chazy and Plattsburgh and are being assisted by the Troop B Collision Reconstruction Unit. The Clinton County District Attorney's Office has also been advised and are assisting in the investigation.
