Stony Creek Library Director Lisa Bartow hangs a painted glass etching by local artist Eric Fleming as she prepares for an ambitious art show at the library. The library is holding an artists reception for the exhibit from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday July 12, and accomplished musician Travis Bartow and his band is scheduled to provide entertainment.
STONY CREEK The works of the many artists who reside in Stony Creek will be displayed in an art show that is on display beginning this week in the Stony Creek Library.
The opening reception for the exhibit will take place at the library 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday July 12, and many of the 18 artists represented in the show will be attending.
A wide array of artistic styles and media will by on display, and the works will be available for purchase
Also on display will be a carving crafted by the late Terry Delgato, along with work created by the acclaimed late Elsie Soto — both of Stony Creek. Prints of Elsie’s art “The Four Corners in Winter” will be available for just $25 to benefit the library.
The reception features live music from a band headed up by Hadley resident Travis Bartow, an accomplished singer and guitarist. He's backed up by Johnny Newell of Warrensburg and Lyndon Watkins of Lake Luzerne.
The art show will be on display through July.
The library is located at 37 Harrisburg Road. Regular library hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
