Park concerts
Six free community Park Series concerts began July 4 and will continue through Aug. 8 with each at 7 p.m. Concert titles include “Move to the Music” (July 11), “Fast and the Furious” sponsored by NBT (July 18), “Sing Out Loud” (July 25), “Price Chopper’s Sailing Away” (Aug. 1) and “CVPH Medical Center’s Onward and Skyward” (Aug. 8).
The rainsite for each of these concerts is St. Agnes Church on Saranac Avenue in Lake Placid.
The Sinfonietta will also travel for five concerts this season, including North Creek July 7 at 7:30 p.m.; The Tupper Lake Wild Center July 26 at 7:30 p.m.; Aug. 2 at Harrietstown Town Hall in the village of Saranac Lake at 6:30 p.m.; St. Mary’s Church in Ticonderoga at 7 p.m. Aug. 3; and at 7 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Amos and Julia Ward Theater in Jay.
“A Walk Through the Orchestra” will be a free morning children’s concert, sponsored by Stewart’s Shops and the LPCA’s Mirror Lake Inn Young and Fun Series, which will feature a chance for young audience members to walk through the orchestra while it performs, and play along on homemade instruments.
