Hot air balloons, fireworks, art receptions, concerts and family fun are all featured this weekend in Northern Warren County.

continued Down in Lake Luzerne, the Adirondack Folk School Festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school at 51 Main St. Artisans of traditional Adirondack skills will be on hand, demonstrating blacksmithing, open-fire cooking, spinning, tin-smithing, fly fishing, woodcarving. Storytelling, food & music are also featured.
Also on Saturday, North Creek will be holding its Independence Day celebration and fireworks. Family fun begins at 1 p.m. in Ski Bowl park off Rte. 28. The fest features Games of chance, live entertainment, food. and fireworks at dusk.
Then on both Saturday July 7 and Sunday, July 8, Bolton is hosting its annual Arts & Crafts Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Rogers Park. The event showcases regional artisans and crafters, with their high-quality creations.
The folks in Thurman like to stretch the weekend out for another day. In their hamlet of Athol, there’s an outdoor concert at 7 p.m. Monday July 9 featuring the Celtic music of the Grafton Street Trio in the park behind the Thurman Town Hall. The band includes gifted musicians playing mandolin, guitar, uilleann bagpipes & fiddle. Bring a blanket or chair.
