“We need to continue our research and we will do that as long as we need to because we want to do this right for the community,” Amsel said.
Amsel said that she could understand why people may be hesitant to commit to a project that has not been started, but that they were seeking to gauge interest, not intent.
“Everyone is psyched and thinks it’s great to get a new building there, but no one wants to commit,” she said. “It is a catch-22 because people want to see the space before committing, but we want them to give us ideas of what they want because we want to do this right.”
