continued Ron Keough, Harrietstown councilman who represented the town and Dewey Mountain at the conference, said that he felt the combined efforts of the towns was similar with the work done in the leadup to the 1980 Olympic Games.
“I am delighted to see this kind of sharing going on,” Keough said. “The shared effort to make this happen is a great thing in my mind.”
Kareen Tyler, Saranac Lake village clerk who was charged with initiating the ESG Torch Run last year, said it would return.
“It will start in Elizabethtown and go through all of the towns that are involved in these games,” Tyler said. We have seen a lot of people with a lot of enthusiasm, and we already have a group that said they will make the run from Elizabethtown to Keene.”
