The incident was a startling one for Zacharenko who said she didn’t want to return to work on Wednesday.
“Every time someone walks through the door I shake a little,” she said. “I didn’t even want to come to work today.”
But Zacharenko said she decided to face her fear instead of sitting home.
“I came in today because I’m facing my enemy because my dad told me ‘You have to face what you’re afraid of not sit home,’” Zacharenko said.
LaFrance said incidents like this don’t happen often in Ticonderoga and the incident is still under investigation.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
