Students receive Olympian treat for good decisions

— “We want you to continue to be kind and make good decisions,” Hulbert said.

At Keeseville, Hulbert said the program is designed to recognize and reward students for good and respectable behavior. Students when they are observed acting responsibly or respectfully they award students with Patriot dollars that can be spent at the Patriot Store in the school lobby. Run by parent volunteers for the past three years in the school lobby to, students can purchase things like lunch with the principal, preferred seating at an assembly, Keeseville school bags, water bottles, and other school supplies. Hulbert said he wants students to not only be recognized for negative behavior but to show appreciation for when they act responsibly.

“It’s an opportunity to reward good life decisions, we don’t want students only getting attention when they do something negative,” Hulbert said.
