Area schools try to cope after carnage in Connecticut

— The schools have used their webpages and emails to keep in contact with parents as well.

On the ELCS website, the first thing visitors see is a letter offering the districts deepest sympathies to those affected by the tragic events at Sandy Hook Elementary School:

“Please rest assured that as a School District Team, we take the health and safety of our students very seriously.”

Osborne the Monday was a “productive and normal day” for ELCS.

“We think about what happened at Sandy Hook with a heavy heart, but we are thinking positively and we are hopeful they will be able to recover from this tragedy,” Osborne said.
