Willsboro The Elizabethtown-Lewis boys varsity basketball team used a quick start to jump in front of the Willsboro Warriors en route to a 43-33 victory Dec. 12.
The Lions took an early 8-0 lead thanks to a strong press and quick scoring opportunities, but the Warriors were able to cut into the lead, trailing only 13-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Lions were able to keep the lead throughout the rest of the game.
Charlie Huttig led the Lions with 19 points, connecting on five three-pointers. Justin LaPier added six points, while Austin Morris scored five, Hugh Harwood four, Cortland White four, Wesley Whalen three and Zac Noka Bailey two.

AuSable Valley win against Moriah with a final score 45 to 23
For the Warriors, Nick Arnold scored nine points with Brandon Porter scoring eight, Sam Politi seven, Seth Swires five and Jarrid McVicker four.
Also on Dec. 12, Meghan Strong scored 24 points as the AuSable Valley Lady Patriots scored a 45-23 win in Moriah.
Taylor Saltus added eight points for the Patriots, while Madison Rondeau scored seven, Sierra Snow two, Logan Snow two and Rachel Knapp two.
