Lake Placid Police continue to search for a missing local man, Seth Kilburn, who was last seen early on Sunday, Aug. 12.
Kilburn, 34, was last seen at Wise Guys Bar on School Street between 12:30 and 1 a.m. As of Wednesday morning, police had no further leads in finding out what happened to him after leaving Wise Guys Bar.
On Tuesday, Aug. 14, the Lake Placid Police Department was joined by Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers and members of the Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department. The search group has scanned along the Chubb River and done a cursory search around Mirror Lake and surrounding trail heads, such as Jack Rabbit Trail and Peninsula Trail.
“We’re assisting the police and following their lead in the investigation,” DEC spokesman Dave Winchell said.
Officers continue to canvas the area and speak to witnesses, family and friends about the possible whereabouts of Kilburn.
The search groups will meet with members of the police force to form expanded search plans on Wednesday morning.
Kilburn is described as a white male with brown eyes, about 5’11” tall, and weighing about 195 pounds.
Kilburn was last seen wearing a blue and white stripped polo shirt and tan/khaki colored shorts and glasses.
