Quantcast

SPCA Column

This week the NCSPCA would like to remind you to save the date for our upcoming Antique and Tag sale to be held at Whallonsburg Grange on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Early birds arriving between 9 and 10 a.m. will be charged $20 admission for first access to all the goodies! General admission from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. is free. All items will be marked down to half price from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds go to benefit the NCSPCA. This is not a rummage sale; we are sure you will be delighted with the array of items on sale!

The NCSPCA is currently offering free adoption of black cats through the month of August. The top ten reasons to adopt a black cat include: black fur doesn’t show up on dark clothes; black cats are warmer on your lap; holding a black cat is slimming; you can always find black cats in the snow; black cats look like little panthers; luck is on your side if you love a black cat; your biker friends will think you’re cool; a black cat is always in fashion; black is beautiful; and black cars are the least likely to be adopted.

Our featured pet this week is Amethyst, a black Domestic Shorthair-mix who is quite an a elegant young lady. Amethyst has a luxurious coat which positively gleams in the sum. This gem of a cat would do well in a family that can help to build her confidence; she is a sensitive cutie who can be a bit shy around people. It seems like this little lady very much wants to be with people, but doesn't quite know how to make the first move. Why not come down to 23 Lakeshore Road and meet her today?
