Leading 3-0, Crown Point put the game away with an eight-run rally in the fifth inning. Amanda Wolf, Taylor Booth and Maria Malone had run-scoring hits in the frame.

Hailey White and Booth each wound up with two hits and two RBI.

Westport 14, Schroon 13

Westport edged Schroon Lake, 14-13, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference softball action April 18.

Trailing 13-6, Schroon Lake rallied to tie the game in the top of the seventh inning only to have Westport scored in the home half for the win.

Ellexus Vaughn led off the bottom of the inning with a double and was able to score on an RBI-ground out by Felicia Kurth.

Abby Veverka had three hits and Kianna Fiore had two for Schroon Lake.
