Ticonderoga Physicians were honored at Inter-Lakes Health on April 2 in recognition of National Doctors’ Day. This annual event recognizes physicians for the important role they play in helping patients, promoting overall health, and their significant accomplishments.
Over 30 staff members lined the hall to express their deep gratitude and appreciation to the physicians for their dedication, contributions to the organization, and for providing excellent patient care to the people in our surrounding community. The physicians were presented with a cake in honor of Doctor’s Day. Present were Dr. Glen Chapman, Dr. Richard McKeever, Dr. Kathleen Pangia, Dr. Todd Waldorf, Dr. Cornelia Freyhofer, Dr. Mark Moss, D.M.D., and Dr. Lawrence Cepelak, D.M.D.
“We are very fortunate to have such caring caregivers,” said Chip Holmes, Chief Executive Officer, Inter-Lakes Health. “The physicians who work at Inter-Lakes health give so much of themselves to their patients. They are truly committed to quality patient care and service to our greater Ticonderoga community. We appreciate them everyday, but it is great to have a day in which we can recognize their extraordinary work and service.”
National Doctors Day was first celebrated March 30, 1933, when Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, set a day aside to honor physicians. From those beginnings in Winder, Georgia, the celebration spread and the House and Senate officially declared March 30th National Doctors Day in 1990.
