Ticonderoga Ticonderoga’s bats were alive as the Sentinels topped Schroon Lake, 18-3 in non-league baseball action April 3.
The Sentinels, who ripped 19 hits, exploded for 12 runs in the second inning to secure the win.
Ti grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first inning. The big blow was a three-run homer by Doug Wilson.
Then came the 12-run second frame. Nate Lenhart, Joe Gonyeau and Aaron Bush each had triples in the inning.
Miles Austin and Troy Granger paced Ticonderoga with four hits apiece. Granger had two doubles while Austin also connected for one. Wilson finished with five RBI. Jordan Woods added two doubles.
Quentin Austin pitched five innings for the pitching win.
The win gives Ticonderoga a 3-0 record, having won its Ticonderoga Tournament last weekend.
Schroon Lake settled down after the big second inning, playing Ti even the remainder of the contest.
