Ticonderoga The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce will host an open house for Adirondack Employment Opportunities on Monday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The open house will be held at the TACC office located at 94 Montcalm St., Suite 1 in downtown Ticonderoga. Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be served.
Adirondack Employment Opportunities provides skilled, no cost job placement and retentions services to businesses and other organizations.
“Recruiting people with diverse backgrounds and different abilities opens up many more opportunities to hire the right person for the job,” explained Director of Consumer and Business Outreach Marsha Lazarus, MBA of the Mental Health Association in N.Y.S. “Studies show that people with disabilities are a loyal and hardworking class of individuals. Think beyond the label and do not be fooled by the term disability.”
Out of 120 million employed Americans including executives, machine operations, managers, sales workers, mechanics, teachers, accountants, and health care workers, 16 million have a disability.
Staff from Adirondack Employment Opportunities will be meeting with individuals interested in learning more about the program as well as employment opportunities through the agency. The supported employment program is designed to assist individuals living with disabilities.
To meet the eligibility requirements for the program, there must be documentation of a disability; such as, physical, mental health/emotional, or learning.
