Elizabethtown — Rumors have been circulating that a boil water order has been issued in Elizabethtown, but that is not the case. Elizabethtown Supervisor Noel Merrihew said Tuesday that he is the first one to be notified by the state Department of Health when a boil water order is issued.
"I have not heard a thing," Merrihew said.
Boil water orders have been issued in the Essex County towns of Jay and Ticonderoga in the wake of Tropical Storm Irene.
