Library closing temporarily for repairs

— The Lake Placid Library will be closed Monday, Oct. 31 through Wednesday, Nov. 3, and possibly through Thursday, Nov. 4, for the installation of new flooring.

New tiling will be put down in the main upstairs room to replace the cracked and peeling surface that was installed more than 20 years ago. “It will be necessary to empty and move all of the free-standing, bookcases and desks and then replace them as the work progresses,” said Beverley Reid, president of the library board of trustees. “We regret that it is necessary to close as we hate to inconvenience our patrons, but it’s simply unavoidable.”

The library will also close for a short time in late November to allow install carpeting in the computer and reference rooms. For more information contact the Lake Placid Free Library 523-3200.
