— Jeanne Luppy had spent a year away from the switchboard at the Essex County Government Center, and was looking for something to do.

So, in 1992, Luppy looked in to a volunteer opportunity at Elizabethtown Community Hospital, something that she has been doing ever since.

Now, 19 years after she started, Luppy said that it is now time to relax, retiring from her post at the front desk of the hospital that has seen both growth and change during her volunteer tenure.

Luppy, who has been volunteering at the front desk of the hospital on Mondays and Thursdays, finished out her service at the end of October.

“I really enjoyed it, and I am going to miss it,” she said.
