How to spice up breakfast

Are you tired of the same old boring breakfast? Or maybe you’re looking for a way to get some more protein into your day. Well this recipe has you covered for a balanced breakfast that is yummy, healthy, and gluten-free.

You will get complex carbs from the black beans along with some protein and a healthy dose of fiber. The egg whites will provide about 20 grams of muscle building protein. Add some spinach ... got to get those greens in.

Top with some salsa for flavor and spice and some avocado for some healthy fats and dreamy creaminess, and best of all it takes about 5 minutes to make. The recipe can also be multiplied to serve more.

Black Bean Breakfast Scramble

Serves 1

4 egg whites

1/2 cup black beans (rinsed and drained)

Handful of spinach

2 Tbsp. salsa (make sure it has no sugar in it)

1/4 Avocado

Heat a skillet and spray with a non-stick cooking spray (I use olive oil in a spray can). Add the egg whites; once they start to cook add the beans and spinach. When it is cooked thoroughly, transfer to a bowl.

Top with salsa and avocado. Enjoy.
