Elizabethtown — Travel between Elizabethtown and the Adirondack Northway will be limited to the Exit 31 ramp starting next week, as state road crews prepare to work on a portion of the road between the town and Route 73 in Keene.
The New York State Department of Transportation has set up signage notifying travelers that Route 9 will be closed to traffic starting Wednesday, Oct. 19, and lasting through Nov. 4.
Carol Breen, Press Information Officer with the DOT, said that the work is being done to replace a culvert located one-half mile south of the Boquet River.
"They will need to rip up the road to do the work," Breen said. "The road will be closed to traffic for that time period, but local traffic will be able to get in and out in both directions."
