Elizabethtown The Elizabethtown-Lewis Lady Lions jumped out to a 20-3 lead after the first quarter against the Schroon Lake Lady Wildcats en route to their third victory of the season, 57-20, in the Alzheimers Awareness Tournament at ELCS Nov. 29.

Shonna Brooks had an impressive night in the teams first home game, scoring 21 points to go with five rebounds and five steals. Kearstin Ashline and Lily Whalen each added eight points, with Ashline totaling five rebounds and four assists and Whalen also grabbing five boards. Jen McGinn had six points and six rebounds, while Clare Harwood, Jasmin Barnes and Savanah Graves each scored four points and Emily Morris added two.
Kylee Cassavaugh totaled three steals on defense, while Angel Barnes had five rebounds.
The Lady Lions, who have started the season 3-0 with impressive wins in the Minerva/Newcomb tournament and the opener of the Alzheimers Awareness event, will face MVAC perennial power Westport Lady Eagles (1-0) in the final Nov. 30, at 6:30 p.m.
The Eagles broke open a close game in the third quarter with a 16-7 run over the eight-minute span against the Ticonderoga Lay Sentinels as they scored a 43-29 victory.
Willa McKinley, who was hampered by foul trouble in the first half, finished with 20 points, five rebounds and five steals. Allison Sherman added 13 points to go with six rebounds, three assists and four steals.
Brendee Russell scored three points to go with three assists, while Mallory Sudduth scored two points with five rebounds and three assists, Karin Dorsey scored one point with four rebounds while Samantha Roy also scored one point.
Karlee McGee added four rebounds, Delany Sears had a pair of steals and Sarah Looby added two rebounds in the win.
The first game of the tournament takes place at 5 p.m. with Schroon Lake playing Ticonderoga, with the game between the Eagles and Lions to follow.
