North Creek Gore Mountain Ski Center opened for the season on Friday, Nov. 25.
Gore Mountain received 10 inches of fresh snow at the base lodge and more at the higher elevations on Wednesday, Nov. 23. On opening day, there were two lifts and five trails open with a base depth of 3-15 inches of snow. The North Creek Ski Bowl is currently not open.
From Nov. 25 to 27, skiers will save $20 when they bring two (2) non-perishable food items to Gore Mountain for the center's drive.
Gore Mountain has made a number of improvements for the 2011-12 season. The center recently acquired 130 new 30-foot tower guns and 30 shorter 10-foot guns. The Tannery Pub & Restaurant was renovated this year. And Gore purchased a new Pisten Bully groomer.
The ski center will open two new glades trails on Little Gore Mountain this year: "Hudson Glades," which incorporates the historic original narrow trail, and "Ski Bowl Glades," which are located north of the new Hudson Chair’s lift line. The Hudson Chair, which opened in January 2011, completed Gore Mountain’s interconnect with the Historic North Creek Ski Bowl.
