Martha Gallagher will be performing at the Whallosburg Grange Hall Saturday, Jan. 21.
continued “My home was one of many severely damaged by the flooding. People from many communities in the region have helped us try to recover,” Gallagher said. “I have wanted to help those who are still struggling and thank those who have helped; what I can offer is music.”
The money generated from the concert will go directly to the Adirondack Community Trust (ACT) where every dollar earned will go to parts of the Adirondacks with the most need.
ACT is a collection of funds that are pooled and invested throughout the Adirondacks. The organization strives to allocate funds effectively by researching grant-receiving nonprofits before approval.
Akstens said the event is a celebration of everything that has been lost and a celebration of the people of the Adirondacks coming together and helping one another.
Tickets purchased in advance are $20 and are $25 at the door. Tickets may be reserved by calling the theater at 648-5950.
