The village of Saranac Lake is looking for an engineering firm to help assess the extent of damage to public infrastructure caused by recent flooding.
Trustees approved a resolution during Monday night's regular board meeting that allows village Manager John Sweeney to interview and select an "appropriate engineering firm" to aid in damage assessment.
Sweeney says flooding caused known damage to the village's Waste Water Treatment Plant and Waste Water Collection System. Flood waters also damaged retaining walls at Hydro Park and along Pelkey Avenue. Other structures, like the River Walk, also sustained heavy damage.
