Mascarenas does it from the mound and plate for the Vikings

Moriah 16, AVCS 1

Jeff Greenough's three-run homer highlighted an eight-run opening inning as Moriah beat AuSable Valley, 16-1, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball play May 17.

Nick Gilbo blasted a two-run shot as the Vikings extended their lead to 10-0 in the second inning.

Greenough and Barber each finished with three hits. Jimmy Curran rapped four hits for the winners.

Ryan Mascarenas allowed a run in five innings for the mound win.

Crown Point 18, Wells 4

Crown Point ripped Wells, 18-4, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference baseball action May 17.

Joe Foote had a three-run homer for the Panthers, who got three hits and four runs from Nathan Tabor.

Tanner Macey allowed one run in five innings for the pitching win.

Chazy 9, Crown Point 5

Chazy beat Crown Point, 9-5, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference baseball action May 18.

The win gives Chazy the MVACDivision I title.

Crown Point grabbed a 4-0 first-inning lead, but couldn't hold on.

Michael DuShane had two hits and two runs batted in for the Panthers.

Plattsburgh 8, Ticonderoga 2

Plattsburgh beat Ticonderoga, 8-2, to clinch the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference Division I championship May 19.

Anthony Porcelli hurls a six-hitter, striking out 11 for the Hornets.

Bobby Grey had a run-scoring double for Ti.

Beekmantown 17, Moriah 9

Moriah fell to Beekmantown, 17-9, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball play May 19.

Moriah held a couple of leads, but couldn't withstand the Eagle offense, which scored in every inning.

Jeff Greenough doubled for Moriah.

NCCS 3, Ticonderoga 2

Jamie Davison fired a two-hitter as Northeastern Clinton edged Ticonderoga, 3-2, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball play May 20.

Tanner Purkey and Jordan Woods had hits for the Sentinels.
