DEC offers Adirondack youth summer camps

The state Department of Environmental Conservation is reminding parents to register their children for summer camps in the Adirondacks.

Most camps cost about $350 a week and offer a variety of opportunities for children to learn and interact with nature. Activities include fishing, hiking, canoeing, and swimming.

The DEC's residential camp program still has openings for youths between the ages of 12 and 14.

In the Adirondacks, DEC sponsors camps at Colby and Pack Forest.
