Fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene of a structure fire at 384 Swinyer Road in Vermontville early Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported to the Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department at 6:26 a.m. by a neighbor. No one was home at the double-wide when the blaze began, officials say.
Three trucks and 17 members from Bloomingdale's fire department arrived at the scene to find a working structure fire. The home incurred extensive damage due to Wednesday's blaze and is being considered a total loss at this point.
The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded with three trucks. Meanwhile, four trucks and 12 members from the Paul Smiths-Gabriels Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid. Crews from the Lake Placid, Wilmington, and Saranac volunteer fire departments also responded to the scene.
All crews were back in service by 11:19 a.m. Wednesday.
The Franklin County Cause & Origin Team was on the scene investigating the cause of the fire yesterday.
