PITTSFORD-Did you know that you can drop off your redeemable bottles and cans at the Rutland County Humane Society (RCHS) and help the animals?

Thanks to generous folks in our community, we now have a new, dry and secure shed for supporters to drop off redeemable bottles and cans.

G.E. Aviation volunteers and four RCHS volunteers made it a reality for us.

The shed is located at the back of the shelter on Stevens Road in Pittsford. Those nickels all add up so please drop off your redeemables.

The animals say thanks.

Two year old. Neutered male. Siberian husky mix.

I am a striking, athletic dog who is looking for an experienced owner who has plenty of time to leash walk me. . .the high fences even at the Humane Society were no match for my jumping abilities. I do have some nice skills: I know sit, shake, and down. Want to play?

Ten month old. Spayed female. Pit bull.

I am a happy cutie pie who enjoys playing and knows sit and down. I am excitable and love a good squeaky toy, as long as you are playing with me. At 10 months I am probably pretty close to full grown but I still need to be treated like a puppy in terms of learning proper play skills and lots of socialization with other dogs. Hope to visit with you soon.

Four year old. Neutered male. Ferret.

My owner found me wondering the streets and took me in and cared for me and even got me a dear friend, Bandit, to hang out with. I am a very affectionate and well behaved little guy and I love to give kisses. I'm independent, litter box trained and just love taking naps in my cozy bed. My favorite places to hide are boxes and tunnels. If things come up missing, yup I'm the guilty one. What a little devil I can be.
