Ti sweeps Seton Catholic, tops NCCS and fares well at Queensbury Invitational

Ticonderoga swept past Seton Catholic in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference track and field action May 10.

The Sentinels won the girls meet, 67-48, as Kate Mercer won the 100-meter hurdles, 400 hurdles and high jump.

She joined with Nicole Trudeau, Jaelyn Granger and Courtney Shaner to win the 400-meter relay.

Trudeau also won the long jump.

Hannah Herbst won the 3,000-meter run, Abigail Gurney the shot and Delaney Bush the discus for Ti.

Ticonderoga won the boys meet, 87-39.

Jesse Perkins won the 100 and 200-meter sprints and the high jump for the Sentinels.

Jay Hebert won the 110 and 400-meter hurdles for the locals, while Arto Nadeau claimed the triple jump and Luke Bartlett the long jump.

Perkins, Hebert, Nadeau and Bartlett combined to won the 400-meter relay.

Jay Berube won the 1,600-meter run, Josh Ross took the shot and Dennis Townes won the discus for the Sentinels.

Sentinels split

Ticonderoga defeated Northeastern Clinton, 102-26, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys tracks and field action May 12.

John Granger won the 100 and 400-meter runs and ran legs on the winning 400 and 1,600-meter relay teams for the locals.

Josh Ross won the shot and discus, Jesse Perkins took the 200-meter sprint and high jump and Jay Hebert won the 110-meter hurdles and ran legs on the winning 400 and 1,600 relays.

Other individual winners for the Sentinels were Javeed Nazir in the 1,600-meter run, Mike Barber in the 400 hurdles, Jay berube in the 800 run and Ken Johnston in the long jump.

Arto Nadeau and Keegan Tierney joined with Granger and Hebert on the winning 400 relay team. Pat Lonergan joined with Nadeau, Granger and Hebert in the 1,600 relay. Also winning for Ti was the 3,200-meter relay team of Tyler Belden, martin Glazer, Cody O'Hara and Lonergan.
