Ti bests Moriah; Wildcats top Willsboro; Crown Point blanks Orange

Crown Point 12, Minerva-Newcomb 0

Nate Tabor and Dan Groshans combined for a shutout as Crown Point beat Minerva-Newcomb, 12-0, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference baseball action May 11.

Tabor fanned 14 in six innings work.

Mike DuShane had two hits and three RBI for the Panthers, while Joe Foote had two hits and scored four runs. Ryan Worth and Jake Courcy also had a pair of hits for the locals.

Ticonderoga 3, NAC1

Tanner Purkey tossed a one-hitter to lead Ticonderoga past Northern Adirondack, 3-1, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball play May 12.

Purkey fanned 11 in his gem.

Jordan Woods had three hits and drove in a run for the Sentinels. Doug Wilson added a pair of base knocks for the winners.

Moriah 10, Lake Placid 1

Ryan Mascarenas came within an out of a no-hitter as Moriah beat Lake Placid, 10-1, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball play May 11.

Mascarenas fanned 10 and surrender a lone hit with two outs in the final frame.

Mascarenas, Nick Gilbo and Justin Cutting each had two hits for the Vikings. Gilbo drove home three runs.

Crown Point 10, Indian/Long Lake 0

Gabe Macey fired a two-hitter as Crown Point topped Indian/Long lake, 10-0, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference baseball action May 13.

Joe Foote had two hits for the Panthers, who received 10 walks and capitalized on four Indian/Long Lake errors.

Schroon 16, Johnsburg 11

Schroon Lake took a slugfest from Johnsburg, 16-11, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference baseball action May 13.

Jimmy Bowen lashed four hits, including a home run to pace the Wildcats. Matt Savarie and Lance Paradis each had two hits for the winners.
