Mill Creek Musings

One of the selections in the Millennium Chorale's Spring Concert was For Good from the Broadway musical "Wicked." The lyrics state that "People come into our lives for a reason, bringing something we must learn, and we are led to those who help us most to grow (if we let them), and we help them in return ... I know I'm who I am today because I knew you."

This caused me to think of people who had an influence on my life: my paternal grandmother, who was my caretaker from ages 6 to 14; several special teachers who encouraged me along the way; role model, Ella Foote, who taught Sunday School and sang alto in the Sr. Choir; my personal idols - the Incomparable Hildegarde and Erma Bombeck; and of course my husband, Bill, who promised to take me to the ends of the earth - and did!

The song ends with these words: "I don't know if I've been changed for the better, but, because I knew you, I have been changed for good."

Who are the people who have made a difference in your life? Take a few minutes to remember them and, if possible, thank them either in person or in your heart.
