Come-from-behind wins the theme of week in high school baseball

NCCS5, Saranac 4

The Cougars scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to beat the Chiefs, 5-4, May 10.

Steven Carder connected for a two-run double as part of the decisive inning, while Jamie Davison had two hits and picked up the save on the mound.

Brandon Spooner also had two hits for the Cougars, while Dalton Castine fanned five batters to earn the win.

Dylan Everleth had three hits, including two triples, while Jordan Gillespie had two hits including a double.

PHS4, Saranac Lake 2

Timmy Curran drove home two with a double in the sixth inning as the Hornets got past the Red Storm May 10.

Curran also hit a double earlier in the game, while Anthony Porcelli hit a solo home run and Brian Latulipe also had a double.

Robbie Knowles got the win in relief for the Hornets, while Porcelli pitched the seventh inning for the save.

Chris Dorman had a double for the Red Storm, while Tyler O'Neil worked six innings on the mound in the loss.

Beekmantown 21, Peru 8

The Eagles scored 13 runs in the sixth inning to cruise past the Indians May 10.

Frank Buksa hit a three-run homer early in the game, and Logan Recor had four hits, including a double, while Chris MacDonald had three hits. Austin Bradish also hit a double.

Tavon Ford-Relation earned the win in relief for the Eagles.

Will Flynn connected on a double and triple for the Indians, while Justus Ruff had a double and the duo of Joe Mazella and Taylor Spear each had a pair of hits.

NAC9, Moriah 0

Josh Powers surrendered only two hits in six innings of work as the Bobcats blanked the Vikings May 10.

Power also drove in three runs in the game, wile Nick Gero, Garrett Gero, Troy Labombard and Josh Rabideau each drove in one steak.
