Civil unrest

The sound of muskets firing and cannons booming filled the grounds of the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base off Washington Road in Plattsburgh last weekend during the annual commemoration of the Civil War. Reenactors took to the field to portray key battles in the war during the two-day event hosted by the Clinton County Historical Association, 11th New York Battery Light Artillery and Alexandria Battery CSA. The gun crew seen here - consisting of Scott Wilson, Larry Gravelle, Aron Gravelle, Gilbert Rivers and Wayne Hewson - was just a fraction of the several dozen participants at the event this year, which marked the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
