Wildcats continue their winning ways in MVAC baseball action

Saranac 14, Moriah 2

Saranac downed Moriah, 14-2, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference baseball play May 6.

The Vikings jumped to a 2-0 lead on a home run by Ryan Mascarenas and a double by Tim Breeyear, but Saranac rallied to win.

Mascarenas took the pitching loss.

Chazy 9, Schroon 2

Chazy beat Schroon Lake, 9-2, in a non-league baseball game played at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown May 7.

Josh Peete allowed just one hit after the first inning to lead Chazy. Kaleb Snide and John Tregan each had two hits for the winners.

Anthony Vanderwalker had a pair of hits for Schroon.

Ticonderoga 12, Beekmantown 5

Ticonderoga thrashed Beekmantown, 12-5, in a non-league baseball game played at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown May 7.

Tanner Purkey paced the Sentinels, hurling five innings for the mound win and driving home four runs at the plate.

Dan Morrison ripped a home run and also had four RBI for the winners.
