Sentinels win

Ticonderoga dominated the combined Moriah, Keene, Westport, Elizabethtown-Lewis team, 108-11, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys track and field action may 3.

Jesse Perkins won the 200-meter sprint and high jump and ran a leg on the winning 400-meter relay team for Ti. Jon Granger won the 100-meter dash and long jump and ran a leg on the winning 400-meter relay team.

Josh Ross won the shot and discus for the locals. Javeed Nazir and Pat Lonergan each ran legs on the winning 800 and 3,200-meter relay squads. Jay Hebert won the 110 hurdles and ran a leg on the winning 800 relay. Mike Barber won the 400 hurdles and ran a leg on the winning 400 relay team. Ken Johnston won the 400-meter run and ran a leg on the victorious 400 relay team.

Also winning for Ticonderoga were Tyler Belden and Josh Cook in the 3,200-meter relay, Jay Berube in the 800, Coleman Granger in the 800 relay and Arto Nadeau in the triple jump.

The combined Moriah, Keene, Westport, Elizabethtown-Lewis team defeated Ticonderoga, 69-56, in the girls meet.

Halie Snyder swept the sprints, winning the 100, 200 and 400-meter sprints and running a leg on the winning 400 relay team for the winners.

Jessica Caner won the long jump and triple jump and ran a leg on the winning 400 relay. Julia Cox won the 1,500-meter run and ran legs on the winning 800 and 3,200-meter relays.

Kate Mercer topped Ticonderoga, winning the 100 and 400-meter hurdles. Ti also got wins from Tabitha Taylor in the 800-meter run, Jaelyn Granger in the high jump, Abigail Gurney in the shot and Delaney Bush in the discus.

Ticonderoga defeated Saranac Lake, 89-39, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys track and field action May 5.

Jon Granger paced the Sentinels, winning the 100-meter dash, 400-meter run and long jump. He also ran a leg on the winning 400-meter relay team.
