BOLTONLANDING - The public is invited to attend an open house at the Sembrich Museum, set for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 15. The event provides an opportunity for visitors to tour the museum, or meet the venue's new director, Beth Navitsky.
The highlights of the 2011 opera museum's summer season features musical celebrations of great composers; genres of international music such as African drumming and Klezmer; and a number of lectures on musical greats, including "Bart k in the Adirondacks."
Visitors are also encouraged to relax and explore the scenic grounds of the museum, situated on a quiet bay of Lake George. Sunday's open house will feature homemade offerings such as homemade cookies and chocolate covered strawberries made by Sembrich volunteers.
The museum exhibit, which incorporates the former teaching studio of Marcella Sembrich, honors the life and career of the internationally renowned soprano.
