Chazy baseball team takes adavantage of Beagles misuces in win

PHS 22, Moriah 2

The Hornets wrapped out six extra base hits and scored in five of the seven innings played in beating the Vikings May 2.

Robbie Knowles (three hits) and Jake Richards each had a pair of doubles, while Richards struck out six batters in five innings on the mound to get the win.

Timmy Curran and Brian LaTulipe (two hits) also doubled for the Hornets. Anthony Porcelli, Casey Buck and Kristian Sherman each collected a pair of hits in the win.


Matt Letourneau collected three hits, including a double, while driving in four runs as the Cougars blanked the Patriots May 2.

Logan Miller added a triple as part of a three-hit performance, while Steven Carder added a triple and Jamie Davison collected a double and a single.

Liam McDonough pitched a solid six innings for the Cougars, with Carder finishing out the game.

Austin House collected three hits, including a double, for the Patriots, while T.J. Burl added two hits and Kodie Simpson, Dave Warner and Shane Douglas saw time on the mound.

Saranac 15, Peru 2

The Chiefs scored six runs in the second inning and finished the game with nine runs in the final two innings to pull away from the Indians May 5.

Ben Weightman and Jake Liberty each had a pair of hits, with Weightman hitting a double. Matt McCasland added a triple.

Kasey Favreau limited the Indians offense to six hits, while striking out 13.

Will Flynn had a double and triple for the Indians, while Mitchell Cunningham added two singles.

Schroon Lake 4 Chazy 3

Jeff Armstrong got a measure of revenge against the Eagles in knocking in the winning run on a walk-off single as the Wildcats came back to win May 5.

The Eagles had scored a walk-off victory against Schroon in the season opener for both teams.
